Zip.ca Goes Retail with Introduction of Gift Cards

OTTAWA, ON — October 1, 2009

Zip.ca, Canada’s leading DVD rental-by-mail service, is bringing the gift of entertainment to a store near you. This fall, pre-paid gift cards will be featured in eight retail chains across Canada, just in time for the holiday season.

The gift cards, which hit the shelves beginning October 1st, are priced at an affordable $25. Cards can be redeemed online towards any of Zip.ca ‘s rental plans — from the $5.95 1-DVD Plan, to the 8-DVD Unlimited Plan.

“Gift cards are the best choice when you’re shopping for the ‘hard to buy for” people on your list. Everyone loves movies, but tastes vary and it’s hard to keep track of what people have already seen. A gift card from Zip.ca makes the buying easy and lets the beneficiary make their own choices,” says Zip.ca’s CEO Curt Millar.

But there’s no need to wait for the holidays to give the gift of entertainment. Zip.ca gift cards are available now at these stores:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart
  • Jean Coutu
  • 7-Eleven
  • Pharmasave
  • Canex
  • Avondale
  • Parkland Industries
  • Marie Mini Mart

Can’t make it to one of these retailers or prefer to do your shopping online? Gift memberships are also available online at www.zip.ca.
