Attention Technology Reporters:

Internic.ca First to Offer Canadians Dot-US Access

Thousands of bookings already made for "America's Internet Address"
Ottawa, Canada / March 12 2002 - With the official accreditation of its international affiliate by
NeuStar, Internic.ca is the first major Canadian registrar to offer full access to dot-US bookings.
Dot-US is the official country code for the USA, and under a new registry system officially
sponsored by the US Department of Commerce and managed by NeuStar, will become much more widely
available in the next few weeks.

Internic.ca is already accepting online bookings for dot-US names at: www.Internic.ca.

"As is the case with dot-CA here in Canada, dot-US is a great way for businesses, organizations and
individuals to demonstrate a significant connection to the USA," said Rob Hall, President and CEO of
Internic.ca. "Since mid-January, our clients have shown steadily-growing demand for dot-US
registrations, confirming our view that dot-US is shaping up as one of the largest extensions -
possibly THE largest - on the Internet. We expect that millions will register dot-US domain names,
and we are delighted to be able to offer our Canadian clients access to this opportunity right at
the start."

Dot-US gives eligible businesses, individuals, organizations and government entities the ability to
establish an American identity on the Internet with a short, memorable domain name (e.g.
johnsmith.us, publicservice.us, mycompany.us). Any business or organization with a bona fide
presence in the United States can register a dot-US domain name, as can any U.S. citizen, resident
or local government agency. Canadian businesses with US operations and most Canadian individuals
with US residency are eligible for dot-US registrations.

"We are now accepting online dot-US bookings from all qualified individuals and organizations, as
well as Sunrise applications from trademark owners," said Hall. "After the close of the Sunrise
period April 9, NeuStar will assign domain names for trademark owners, and we will submit all the
other bookings we have accepted in NeuStar's First-Come, First-Served Service. After the live
registry commences full operation April 24, we will offer a free online search service along with
live online registrations."

www.Internic.ca and its affiliated companies have long been at the forefront of Internet
development, offering industry-leading full customer service and a full suite of domain registration
services. www.Internic.ca is Canada's first dot-ca accredited registrar and is Canada's leading
dot-ca registrar. Its ICANN-accredited sister company is ranked by the authoritative State of the
Domain report as one of the world's fastest-growing registrars, is among the world's Top 50
registrars, is the world's first accredited dot-name registrar, is among the world's first
accredited dot-US registrars, and is provisionally accredited by the Australian Domain Authority
(auDA) in the first wave of new dot-au registrars. Based in Ottawa, the companies serve customers
around the globe from offices in North America and the Caribbean, and are the world's only registrar
group simultaneously accredited by ICANN, CIRA, NeuStar, auDA and the Global Name Registry.
