Ottawa’s Susan M. Richards named Fellow of The Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA)

Certified Management Accountants of Ontario is proud to announce that Susan M. Richards, CMA, of Ottawa, Ontario, has been appointed as one of fourteen new Fellows of The Society of Certified Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA).

The FCMA designation is a prestigious, national honorary designation awarded to Certified Management Accountants (CMA) who, through their outstanding achievements, bring distinction to the management accounting profession and serve as a role model to others.

In February 2010, Susan M. Richards became CFO of Momentous.ca. Previous to this role, she was Vice President of Finance, CFO at another tech organization and led an initiative there that more than doubled the eligible tax credit received annually. For this initiative, Susan was awarded the company’s Top Medal Award in April 2009, and recognized with the Intuition Award at the CMA Creative Leadership Awards in June 2009.

Susan M. Richards has made significant contributions to Certified Management Accountants of Ontario as a member of the Board of Directors and an adjudicator of the Board Report, the final evaluation component of the CMA accreditation program.

She currently serves her community as a member of the Dollars and Sense Steering Committee and Treasurer of the Robert Bateman Council.

Experienced in the "three pillars" of the profession – accounting, management and strategy – CMAs are strategic and financial management professionals who contribute to the bottom line success of organizations by understanding all areas of business.
